Mugger killed in city

An alleged mugger was killed in a gunfight with members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police in the city's Khilgaon area early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Zakir Hossain alias Kangali Zakir, 35, son of Abdul Aziz of Matwail in the city’s Jatrabari area. Victim’s wife Nipa Akhter identified the body at the hospital morgue, according to a news agency.
Police said the DB had information that criminals commit mugging in Khilgaon Biswa Road area regularly at midnight. Passengers, who usually get down from night coaches, especially of 'Shohagh Paribahan', fall prey to them.
