\\\'Mugger\\\' lynched in Gafargaon

An alleged mugger was killed and another was injured seriously in a mob beating in Gafargoan Railway Station in Mymensigh on Wednesday night. The dead is Shakil, 20, son of Babul Hossain of Shilashia village of the upazila. Abdus Sattar, officer-in-charge of GRP Mymensingh said, a gang of snatchers boarded the Dhaka-bound inter-city train 'Agnibina' from Mymensingh town. When the train reached Gafargoan Railway Station around 8:30pm last night the gangsters snatched valuables from a passenger at a compartment of the train. Other passengers caught two alleged snatchers - Shakil and Kabir Hossain- both hailed from Gafargoan and beat them mercilessly. Informed by the passengers, the members of the security staff of the train rushed to the spot and rescued the snatchers and handed the over to GRP in Gafargoan. They were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where Shakil succumbed to his injuries around 2am on Wednesday. The GRP also arrested three members of the gang-Aminul, Mona and Humayun- all hailed from Durgapur of Netrokona districts for their alleged involvement in the mugging, according to BSS.
