Some muggers allegedly threw a college student out of a moving train, instantly killing him near Dhirasram Railway Station in Gazipur city on Friday. The victim is Abu Bakkar alias Zillu, a 4th year (honours) student of Sheikh Amanullah College in Satkhira’s Kalaroa Upazila and a resident of Sharsha Upazila in Jessore district. Sources at Government Railway Police (GRP), Gazipur, quoting Zillu’s friend Jahangir Alam, said, Zillu and Jahangir had come to Dhaka for taking part at a recruitment test of a private company on Tuesday. After the examination, Zillu and Jahangir got onto the roof of ‘Chitra Express’ train at Airport Rail Station near Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) International in Kurmitola to go to Jessore around 8:00pm. As the train reached Dhirasram Station, a gang of muggers swooped on them and tried to snatch mobile phone and money from them. Being resisted, the muggers threw Zillu out of the train roof, leaving him dead on the spot, according to a news agency.
