Muggers loot Tk 0.25m after shooting one

Muggers took away Tk 250,000 after shooting an employee of an insurance company in the capital's Nazim Uddin Road Wednesday evening, police said.
The victim was identified as Rafiqul Islam (48), who works for Sadharan Bima Corporation.
Assistant Sub-Inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, Haider Ali, confirmed the incident, saying that it took place at about 6:10pm.
He said Rafiqul boarded a leguna, a motorised transport, from Nazim Uddin Road in Lalbagh area along with the money. The muggers, who were in the vehicle in the guise of passengers, shot at his leg and took away the money contained in a bag after throwing him out of the vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the DMCH for treatment.
