Muggers loot Tk 0.82m injuring two in city

In separate incidents, muggers allegedly looted Tk 0.82 million (Tk 8.29 lakh) injuring two people in the city early Saturday, reports UNB.
The injured were identified as Md Shanu Miah, 32, an RMG trader of Tongi in Gazipur, and Falan Miah, who claimed him to be a scrap trader. But police said he is an employee of a trading house.
The first incident took place under the New Market Footbridge around 1:30 am when two muggers on a motorbike swooped on Shanu and took away Tk 0.12 million (Tk 1.29 lakh) after firing gunshots at his right thigh.
Talking to reporters at the DMCH, Shanu said he has been living at Tongi in Gazipur. He was returning to Tongi after collecting money from his clients in the capital.
Meanwhile, Falan Miah claimed that 5-6 local miscreants swooped on him near 'Haddi Factory' in the Kadamtali area around 2 am. They hacked him and took way Tk 0.7 million (Tk 7 lakh) from him. He was also taken to the DMCH.
