Muggers loot Tk 4.1m in city, dists

Muggers shot two employees of a ‘bKash’ agent and took away Tk 1.0 million from them near the Kadam Fuara of High Court area on Sunday. The injured were identified as M Sohag Khan, 28, and Doulat Gazi, 35, employees of bKash agent ‘Siddique Enterprise’ situated on the ground floor of the Supreme Court Bar Association Bhaban. The criminals shot Sohag and Doulat as they tried to resist them. With bullet injuries to their left legs, both the employees were rushed to the DMCH. In separate incidents, muggers looted Tk 3.1 million in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts on Sunday. In Sunamganj, snatchers took away Tk 2.2 million of British-American Tobacco Company in the bus stand area of Chhatak municipality. Police said Pintu, a worker of the company, along with Tk 2.2 million was going to Dutch-Bangla Bank Ltd for depositing the money. In another incident, in Sylhet, muggers looted Tk 0.9 million of Suntek Energy Company at Khadimnagar in the city, according to a news agency.
