Muggers loot Tk 4.8m killing 1 in city

Muggers opened fire on a money exchange trader and his son and looted Tk 4.8 million from them in the city’s Khilgaon area on Thursday night, leaving the latter dead and the former injured. The deceased was identified as Sharif Hossain Sayem, 32, while the injured is his father as Israel Hossain, 60, owner of ‘Universal Money Exchange’. Hospital sources said Israel and his son were returning to their Shantipur residence under Khilgaon Police Station from their Motijheel office with the money, according to a news agency.
