Muggers loot Tk 50,000 cash from trader in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Sept 4 (UNB): Muggers stabbed a fertiliser trader indiscriminately and looted Tk 50,000 from him in Farabari Hat area of Sadar Upazila Wednesday night.
Police later in a nightlong drive arrested two people in this connection.
They were identified as Asaduzzaman Ronny (19), son of Khatibuddin of Chameswari-Sarkarpara village and Mohammad Ali (20), son of Korban Ali of Borgaon village in Sadar Upazila.
Police quoting locals said a gang, numbering 10/12, swooped on Taslimuddin while he was returning home at nearby South Batina village after closing his shop and snatched away the cash after stabbing him grievously.
Hearing his screams, local people rescued him and rushed him to Sadar hospital. Later, he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital Thursday as his condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, Abdul Quddus, father of the victim filed a case with the local police station in this connection.
