Muggers loot Tk0.4m from telecom shop

Muggers looted Tk0.4 million (400,000) from the chauffer of a telecom shop making its proprietor hostage at gun point in the city’s Rampura area on Sunday night. Police and locals said a gang of muggers equipped with firearms snatched away Tk0.4m after making Honey Telecom owner Anwar Hossain hostage in Banasree of Rampura. When contacted, Anwar Hossain said a gang of 4/5 snatchers stormed the shop and took him hostage at gun point. The miscreants snatched away cash Tk0.4m from chest, he added. Contacted, officer-in-charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman of Rampura Police Station said they are aware about incident. He said being informed, police visited the spot. A case has been lodged in this regard, he added, according to a news agency.
