Mugging admission seekers rises at JU

Three students were detained at Jahangirnagar University (JU) while they were mugging admission seekers at the campus on Tuesday.
The accused are identified as Shourov Rahman a fourth year student of Botany department, Atikul Islam Farhad a third year student of Statistics department and Yasin Ahmed a second year student of Geography and Environment also an activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of JU units. Both of them are the residents of Bangabandhu Hall, JU proctor Prof. Mujibur Rahman confirmed this.
Shamol Bissha an admission seeker said that while he along with his friends were walking beside the central field at noon Yasin Ahmed called them and took them to a corner of the central field and mugged the money bags from them.
Later they informed the incidents to another BCL group of JU. Then some of the activist of BCL went to the spot and detained snatchers, he said.
JU Proctor said, "The incident is true. We called a disciplinary meeting for this and will take final decision after the meeting as this kind of incidents occur regularly at JU."
