Muhith for specific efforts to get middle-income status

Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Tuesday suggested accelerating coordinated efforts particularly in some major areas to promote Bangladesh to the middle-income group by 2021. "We need coordinated efforts to achieve significant improvement in some major areas to elevate the country to the upper category from the current least developed country (LDC) status," the minister told the inaugural session of the 'Regional Meeting on Financing Graduation Gaps for Asia-Pacific LDCs' at the city's Sonargaon Hotel, according to a news agency.
