Muhith to unveil Tk 2.5 trillion budget Thursday

Finance Minister AMA Muhith is set to present in parliament a Tk. 2.5 trillion national budget for 2014-15 fiscal Thursday.
This will the first budget of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government since it was elected for the second consecutive term on Jan. 5.
For Muhith it is his 8th national budget presentation, according to a statement of the Finance Ministry, according to a news agency.
His budget speech is expected to start at 3:30 p.m.
To make the budget more participatory, anyone home and abroad would be able to read and download budget documents on the website of the Finance Division www.mof.gov.bd  and send their opinions and suggestions.
The suggestions and opinions would be considered, said the statement.
To ensure wide-spread participation, the budget documents will also be available at www.bangladesh.gov.bd, www.nbr-bd.org, www.plancomm.gov.bd, www.imed.gov.bd, www. bdpressinform.org, www.pmo.gov.bd and private online newspaper bdnews24.com.
Also Thursday the summary of the budget, annual financial statement, supplementary financial statement, mid-term macro economic policy statement, March towards Digital Bangladesh: Update 2014, power and energy sector development: advancement of success, rail communication system: progress towards development, poverty and inequity in Bangladesh: journey towards overcoming it, development and flourish of the tourism industry, district-wise budget allocation 2014-15 (Sylhet, Khulna, Chittagong, Tangail, Barisal, Rajshahi and Rangpur), gender budget statement, economic survey, demands for grants and allocation (non-development and development), demands for grants and allocation (development) and mid-term budgetary framework will be available at the website as well as to be supplied from parliament.
The Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the FY 15 prepared by the Planning Commission alongside the activities of the banks and financial institutions 2013-14 prepared by the Bank and Financial Institution Division would be placed in parliament.
