Muhith's death condoled

Ministers and the country's apex trade body condoled the death of former finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Saturday.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury in his condolence message said that late Muhith had actively participated in our historic struggle for War of Liberation and historic great language movement.
He had served the country with strategy, intellect, honesty and proficiency while making Bangladesh proud in the world.
Mentioning the former finance minister a multifaceted talent, the minister said that late Muhith had made a very important contribution to the social development, public service, environmental movement and struggle to protect democracy in Bangladesh.
"In his death, Bangladesh lost an inspiring personality. The fellow countrymen will always remember him for his work for the economic prosperity of Bangladesh," he said.
He prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to his bereaved family members.
State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Swapan Bhattacharjee condoled the sad demise of former finance minister.
In a message of condolence he conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Md. Jashim Uddin has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith.
In a condolence message, the FBCCI President prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the bereaved family members.
The FBCCI chief said the nation will remember him for his unparalleled contribution to the economic development of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Economic Reporters Forum (ERF) also expressed shock at the death of former finance minister Muhith.
President of ERF Sharmin Rinvy and General Secretary SM Rashidul Islam in a message of condolence said the country had lost a guardian who had expertise on the country's economy.
They also recalled the former minister's valuable advices for the betterment of ERF.
They conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family members and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
