Muktijoddha, BJMC into quarterfinals in Fed-Cup

Title aspirants Muktijoddha Sangsad hardly had to sweat as they coasted to a cakewalk win over Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club by 3-1 goals in the group A match of the Grameenphone Federation Cup at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports BSS.
In another match of the day, BJMC were in menacing mood as they dumped Cox's City 6-0 at the Kamalapur Stadium to win the group with seven points.
The BJMC emerged as the group champions with 7 points while Muktijoddha finished runners-up with 6 points. Both the teams moved into the quarterfinals.
Ismail Bangoura, the Guinean forward was the pick of the lot as his brace of goals in the 7 and 37th minutes saw BJMC in total command.
At the Bangabandhu National Stadium Muktijoddha literally strolled to victory as they tamed Dhaka Mohammedan with all their three forwards Emily, Mithun and Sunday scoring the goals.
Emily put Muktijoddha ahead in the 37th minute with an excellent clever placing off a minus of Sunday Chizoba. Emily latching on Chizoba's made no mistake to place the ball past goal line (1-0)
Substitute Mithun who replaced Emily got his name among the scorers in the 56th minute after entering the field as he broke the attempted offside trap with a Mamunul Islam through and placed the ball at the far post (2-0).
Sunday sealed the fate of the match in the 65th minute with a superb placing on Mithun cross that beat Mohammedan goalkeeper Titumir in the near post (3-0).
Mohammedan's Nigerian forward Wilkok scored his team's first goal in the 70th minute after midfielder Dominc Johnson set him free with a lob and Wilkok placed the ball over onrushing Muktijoddha goalkeeper Mamun Khan (3-1).
