A murder case was filed with Lauhajang police station on Tuesday accusing six persons over a launch capsize in Padma River near Mawa Ferry Ghat in Munshiganj. BIWTA transport surveyor Jahangir Bhuiyan filed the case against six, including the owner and rider of ‘Pinak 6’, the launch that overturned at Mawa Turning Point on Sunday with more than 300 on board. Deputy Commissioner of Munshiganj district M Saiful Islam Badal confirmed this saying we will do our best for protecting people’s lives and property. ‘We have already stopped those launches which are not fit for running in water route. Side by side, stern steps have been taken to control carrying of additional passengers in launches,’ the DC added, according to a new agency.
