Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been transferred to the Mumbai Indians for Rs 22 million, report agencies.
Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has also been transferred. The Delhi Daredevils had also been looking to sign Mustafizur and had even made the opening bid, but eventually lost out to Mumbai.
Mustafizur was first signed to the IPL in 2016 by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 14 million and played there for two seasons and played a significant role in the team's IPL win that year. Bangladeshi cricketer Mohammad Ashraful had previously played a stint with the Indians.
Mumbai currently has Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Rohit Sharma on its roster.
Meanwhile, Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will start afresh in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his newly found team Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The marquee all-rounder has been sold to Hyderabad for Rs 20 million (2 crore).
This year's auction contains a magnanimous number of 578 cricketers with 36 marquee listed players-- 13 of them are Indians and rest of the international cricketers.
The star all-rounder, who played for the Koltaka Knight Riders in the last seven editions, was up for grab during the second round of the bidding with a base price of Rupees 10 million (one crore). In the bidding Royal Challengers Bangalore also showed their interest to recruit Shakib.
