Mustard cultivation goes up in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH. Feb 20 (BSS): The cultivation of mustard is increasing in the district every year as farmers are earning good profit from the crop, said farmers and Department of Agriculture Extensions (DAE) in Panchagarh.
DAE sources said a total of 1,629 hectares of land have brought under the mustard cultivation under the district this year while last year it was 900 hectares.
Mustard growers said they are getting a substantial profit from mustard farming every year.
Mustard can be cultivated easily on the same land after harvesting Aman and IRRI boro paddy. In this way, farmers are benefited and many of them are eager to cultivate mustard in their lands.
