'MV Miraj-4' launch had at least 365 people on board, almost double of its capacity, when it capsized in Meghna River at Daulatpur under Gazaria Upazila of Munshiganj on Thursday, according to a log recovered from the launch on Saturday evening. A group of curious people recovered the tally book from the staff room (Kerani Cabin) of the ill-fated launch about 5:30pm. After the launch was brought to the shore by rescue vessels, many curious people peeped inside in hope of finding more bodies. The ‘tally-book’ shows that 351 passengers and 14 staff members were on the Sureshwar-bound launch from Dhaka when it caught in a storm and sank on Thursday afternoon. At least 55 dead bodies have been recovered and many missing soon after the accident took place around 3:30pm on Thursday, according to a news agency.
