MV Miraj-4 owner, 6 others sued

MUNSHIGANJ, May 19 (UNB): A case was filed Monday against seven people, including the owner of MV Miraj-4, in connection with the launch capsize in Munshiganj Thursday.
Haidar Hossain Akand, sub-inspector (SI) of Gazaria Police Station, filed the case against Khandakar Anwar Hossain, the owner of MV Miraj-4, six other identified and 2/3 unidentified people, said Ferdous Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of the station.
The other accused are - launch master Rafiqul Islam, ticket master Dulal, cabin boy Nurul Islam and three other staff - Samsuddin, Mintu and Shahid.
The Sureshwar-bound launch, carrying over 200 passengers, sank near Gazaria Launch Ghat in the Meghna on May 15 after it was caught by a violent storm.
