Myanmar minister due today to sign deal on road link

Myanmar Minister for Construction Saw Tun arrives in the city today (Thursday) to sign an agreement on construction of a 25-km road directly connecting Dhaka with Yangon, reports UNB.
The Bangladesh government will finance construction of the road-measuring 2km from Gundhom inside Bangladesh and 23km from Bawlibazar to Tongoru inside Myanmar.
The road construction will cost Tk 1.41 billion (141 crore.) Saw Tun and Communications Advisor MA Matin will sign the agreement tomorrow (Friday.)
The proposed direct road link would connect Bangladesh with Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. This will also link Bangladesh with the Asian Highway, he said.
