Mystery over police officer's death in hospital
Thursday, 12 November 2020
Shfting of patients from the state-run hospitals to private facilities is not a new thing in the country. There might be a powerful syndicate of middlemen and hospital employees behind this immoral practice.
The death of police officer Anisul Karim while taking treatment in a private hospital is probably an example of such activities. Anisul, senior assistant superintendent of police who reportedly had been suffering from mental complications over some family issues, was allegedly beaten to death by 8-9 hospital staff members.
A CCTV footage has reportedly shown that the hospital employees were assaulting Anisul after taking him inside a room. Later, the law enforcers arrested 10 people.
According to the reports, the police officer was first admitted to a government-run mental hospital but later shifted to the private clinic. It needs to be investigated why he had to be taken to that private facility.
