RU Correspondent | Monday, 9 February 2015

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Feb 8: Business studies education at the Rajshahi University (RU), second largest campus of the country, has gained overwhelming popularity among the students for admission under Institute of Business administration (IBA) and Business Administration faculty.
Until recent past science subjects were the most popular after medical and engineering courses. Currently about 45 per cent of the total admission seekers are coming for 1st year at Honours level for business discipline.
Business studies offer opportunities for students to work as internees of reputed organisations and then finally absorbed as regular employees or financial and multi-national institutions.
The main reason behind the trend is job opportunities for business degree holders, said Prof. Monimul Haque, a teacher of Finance department.
There are five departments under Business Administration faculty at RU from where regular students get BBA and MBA degree for four and one year respectively.
