NADPO urges BTSS not to dismiss disabled employees

Sunday, 24 June 2007

FE Report
The National Alliance of Disabled People's Organisations (NADPO) has expressed concern over the alleged move by the Bangladesh Telephone Shilpa Sangstha (BTSS) to retrenchment of its disabled employees.
In a statement Saturday, the NADPO said the BTSS is putting pressure on nine employees, who are disabled, to resign their posts. Otherwise, BTSS authority will sack them.
As there is very limited employment opportunity for the disabled persons in Bangladesh, they will fall into difficulties in their personal life if they are axed, the NADPO said.
The NADPO requested the BTSS not to axe the disabled persons.
