Nagad hands over BMW car to payment campaign winner

Pahlowan Mahbub Hai-der, a resident of Dhaka, achieved a momentous victory by winning the BMW car in the mega payment campaign conducted by the mobile financial service operator 'Nagad.'
His secured the top position with 473,027 votes, which were cast by Nagad's customers from all corners of the country.
Posts and Telecommu-nications Minister Mustafa Jabbar announced the name of the lucky winner at a grand event at a hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday.
He along with Founder and Managing Director of Nagad Limited Tanvir A Mishuk and film star Ananta Jalil handed over the key of the BMW to Mahbub Haider, says a press release.
In the final stage of the campaign, Nagad selected the top 10, out of the 71 shortlisted people, through voting.
Sylvia Yaseen from Chattogram secured the second position with 411,813 votes while Saidur Rahaman Sohel from Cox's Bazar bagged the third position with 334,099 votes.
A total of 4,539,055 votes were cast during the campaign.
Posts and Telecommu-nications Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, "From the very beginning, Nagad has been doing one after another wonders. Giving this BMW car as a gift under a payment campaign is the latest one."
Tanvir A Mishuk said, "The BMW campaign is not just a campaign; rather it is a big initiative to help the country move towards a Smart Bangladesh."
"I believe such a payment campaign will play a significant role in establishing a cashless society in Bangladesh," he added.
Cricketers Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Mushfiqur Rahim congratulated the BMW winner and other participants in separate video messages.
The mega payment campaign, which started in the last week of March, ended on June 30.
