Nagorik Oikya postpones mass procession

Tuesday, 24 February 2015

Apparently in the wake of the leak of telephonic conversations between its chief Mahmudur Rahman Manna and a top BNP leader, Nagorik Oikya postponed Monday its mass procession in the city halfway. Nagorik Oikya organised the rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club at 3pm demanding that a dialogue to break the ongoing political stalemate be held.  At the beginning of the rally, it was announced that Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Ganoforum president Dr Kamal Hossain would lead the mass procession after the rally. However, Nazmul Hasan, convener of Nagorik Chhatra Oikya, its student wing, announced after a while that they are postponing the programme for unavoidable reasons.
