Wednesday, 3 November 2010

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid Tuesday called for a united social movement to resist Eve teasing, reports BSS.
No Eve teaser would be spared. The offenders would have to face tough actions, if any female student, teacher or guardian is attacked, he said while speaking at a meeting at Rayerbazar High School auditorium to protest attack on the school's managing committee by the Eve teasers.
Presided over by Rayerbazar High School Managing Committee Chairman M Abul Quashem Khan, the meeting was also addressed by local MP Fazle Noor Taposh, Education Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Director General Prof Noman Ur Rahman, among others.
Referring to the menace of Eve teasing, the education minister said the Eve teasers must be resisted at any cost.
He urged the guardians to take care of their children and bring them back to the right path. "If you fail, please hand over them to the law enforcers," he added.
Nahid advised the male students to change their attitudes toward female students and consider them as sisters, friends and relatives.
