Nahid seeks cooperation of all to hold HSC exams peacefully

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid sought cooperation of all including teachers and guardians to hold the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations peacefully, reports BSS.
"We have taken all-out measures to check question paper leakage in the HSC examinations scheduled to begin on April 2," he said during the prize distribution ceremony of Lalmatia Women College Sports competition in the city Thursday.
Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Division Md Sohrab Hossain, Pro-vice Chancellor of National University Dr Md Mashiur Rahman and senior officials of the Education Ministry, among others, addressed the function with Principal of the College Prof Dr Md Rafiqul Islam in the chair.
Nahid said, "The authorities will open envelopes of question papers 25 minutes before commencement of the HSC examinations. We have taken decision to shut down all coaching centres until completion of the examinations."
He said all departments concerned are sincerely working to root out all possible sources of question paper leakage as a vested quarter is involved with the malpractices.
A total of 13, 11,457 candidates will appear in the HSC and equivalent examinations from 8,943 educational institutions all over the country. Of the candidates, 6, 92,730 are male and 6, 18727 are female.
