Nahid trashes TIB report on private varsities

Terming the TIB report on private universities ‘immature, incomplete and baseless’, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Sunday said the government will seek information from the TIB on what basis they prepared the research report. He came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after a meeting with vice-chancellors and trustee boards of the private universities at his office. Nahid asked the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) to prove its report to be true or apologise to the nation and withdraw the report. Admitting that there are some allegations against 15 private universities as brought by the TIB, he said it is not fare to blame all the private universities for that, according to a news agency.
