Nahid urges Muslim Ummah to help improve quality of edn

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid sought cooperation from the Muslim Ummah for improving the quality of Bangladesh's higher as well as technical education.
He made the call while addressing the fifth Islamic conference of Education Ministers at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia Tuesday, according to a message received in Dhaka, reports UNB.
Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd Yassin formally inaugurated the conference.
High Education Minister of Malaysia Dato Sri Khaled bin Nordin, Vice-chairman of Islamic Conference of ministers' of Higher Education and Scientific Research (ICMHESR) Dr Peter Adok Niyabe, Director General of the Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (IESCO) Dr Abdul Aziz Othman Altwijri and OIC Assistant Secretary General Abdul Moiz Bokhari, among others, addressed the session.
Addressing the occasion, Mr Nahid said the government of Bangladesh has given topmost priority to improving its education sector.
The theme of the conference this year is 'Enculturation of Quality Academia, Research and innovation towards Prosperity of Ummah'.
