Names of 2 Razakars stay unommited in monument

MAGURA, Mar 23 : Independence Day, Victory Day come and go, but the names of two Razakars in the victory monument of Magura remain unomitted. The monument was built at Vina crossing of Magura town under the auspices of zilla perishad in 2004. The names of all martyrs of Magura in liberation war were inscribed in the monument. But the names of two Razakars were also included in it at that time. The alleged Razakars are Aminuddin and Khatir Ali. They were reportedly involved in killing, looting and rape during the liberation war. It may be mentioned, Aminuddin and Khatir Ali were killed by freedom fighters at the historical Kamanna fight. Freedom fighters of Magura had demanded a number of times to erase their names officially. But as no step was taken in this regard so far, exasperated freedom fighters of Magura covered their names with black paint in 2007. When contacted Abdul Halim, Deputy Commander of Magura district unit Muktijoddha Sangsad said he wrote to concerned Ministry to omit the names of two Razakas from the monument. But no official step was yet taken in this regard. "If the names of two Razakars are not omitted from the monument before the forthcoming Independence Day we shall launch a tough movement," he said. Phensidyl recovered Police recovered 198 bottles of Indian Phensidyl in Magura Tuesday. Following a tip off, a police team led by Magura police super Proloy Cisim raided a Nasimon in at Magura bus terminal and seized 198 bottles of Phensidyl. A case was filed with Magura Thana in this connection.
