Nanak blames BNP for destroying Milk Vita

State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak said the BNP-led four-party alliance government had destroyed the Bangladesh Milk Producer's Co-operative Union or Milk Vita, reports BSS. "During the tenure of the four-party alliance government, former Minister Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan ruined the Milk Vita", Nanak alleged while inaugurating Sripur Milk Chilling Plant at Barmi under Gazipur district Saturday.
As per the election manifesto, the LGRD state minister said the present government led by Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has taken different projects to expedite the development of the company but the past BNP government did not take any development programme for the welfare of the organization.
Highlighting the achievement of the Milk Vita, Nanak told the function that there was a record production of about 0.35 million litres of milk per day by the Milk Vita during this Eid festival. He added that now the average daily production of milk is 0.2 million litres while it was not more than 0.1-0.12 million litres during the BNP-Jama'at government.
With Hasib Khan Tarun, chairman, Managing Committee of the Milk Vita Union, in the chair, the programme was also addressed by lawmaker of Netrakona-6 Mohammad Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru and Rural Development and Co-operatives Division secretary Mihir Kanti Majumder as special guests.
Vice-president of the managing committee of the Milk Vita Union Shafiqur Rahman gave the welcome address while Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Local Government, Rural Development and Coopratives Advocate M Rahmat Ali spoke as the chief guest.
