Narayanganj 7 murders: Dhaka range DIG quizzed

The committee, formed by the government to investigate the sensational Narayanganj seven-murder incident, Sunday quizzed deputy inspector general (Dhaka range) SM Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman.
Shahjahan Ali Mollah, the chief of the probe committee, formed by the Public Administration Ministry on May 7, interrogated Mahfuzul Haque from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm at the Secretariat, according to a news agency.
After the interrogation, Mahfuzul Haque said he told the committee about what he knows over the seven-murder case. “I replied to the committee’s each question,” he told reporters.
Replying to a question over the nature of their queries, Mahfuzul Haque said “I can say nothing in this regard.”
Later, Shahjahan Ali Mollah told the journalists that they have recorded his statement.
Responding to a question about submission of the final report as the deadline for submission of the report is September 9, the committee chief said, “As the case is so complex, we’ll have to investigate more. We’ll submit the progress report before the court September 9 and seek further time.”
About the progress of the investigation, he said, “The investigation work is progressing as we’ve interrogated 400 people so far.”
