Narayanganj killers must be punished: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reaffirmed Monday that her government will give exemplary punishment to those involved in the Narayanganj seven murders.
 She came up with the remarks when family members of five of the victims called on her at her official residence Ganobhaban, according to a news agency.
The family members of slain Narayanganj city councillor Nazrul Islam, Moniruzzaman Khan Swapan, Driver Jahangir, Tajul and Liton met the Prime Minister.
After the meeting, Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil briefed reporters.
Sheikh Hasina consoled the family members of the victims when an emotional situation was created.
Terming the incident ‘inhuman’, the Prime Minister assured that the killers must be brought to justice identifying them through proper investigation.
 She categorically mentioned that her government would not spare the criminals involved in the murders.
In this regard, Sheikh Hasina said the heads of the local administration as well as the commanding officer of Rab-11 were removed from their position in the interest of proper investigation.
