Narsingdi coming under sanitation coverage

NARSINGDI, Sept 13 (BSS): The entire Narsingdi district will come under hundred percent sanitation coverage by June, 2013.
Official sources said the sanitation programme, under Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), has been progressing fast in the rural areas of the district to achieve the goal.
Abdul Awal, executive engineer of PHED, Narsingdi, told BSS yesterday that nine unions including pourashava of Shibpur upazila, eleven unions and one pourashava in Monohardi upazila and four unions and one pourahabha of Polash upazila have brought under sanitation coverage.
He said the programme in other three upazilas-Sadar, Raipura, and Belabo-are going satisfactorily.
The engineer said 92 percent areas in sadar upazila, 90 percent in Raipura upazila and 95 percent in Belabo upazila have so far been brought under the sanitation programme.
