NASA Int\\\'l Space Apps Challenge in Dhaka, Ctg next month

For the first time a NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2015 is going to be arranged in Dhaka and Chittagong next month (April), hosted by local software developers' association -- Basis.
In the contest the participating software developers, engineers, artists and other professionals would solve problems in earth, outer space technology, human space flights, robotics, and asteroids and in few other subjects.
The International Space Apps Challenge is a two-day hackathon where teams of technologists, scientists, designers, educators, entrepreneurs, developers and students participate and solve different problems.
The participants will design innovative solutions with the publicly available data.
One of the founders of the NASA's International Space Apps Challenge and also a renowned speaker, Ali Llewellyn will visit Bangladesh to observe the competition.
The Basis (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) is going to arrange the competition on April 10 and 11in Dhaka and Chittagong.
The space apps competition would be supported by Basis Students' Forum, IBPC, CloudCamp and Mobile Monday.
The Dhaka programme would be held at Daffodil International University and the Chittagong programme at International Islamic University of Chittagong.
The hackathon would also be arranged in more than a hundred cities across the globe.
All selected participants of the competition will be given certificates. Also, 4 winners from Bangladesh will get the opportunity to join the final stage, which will be held in New York.
To participate in the Bangladesh round of the event, registration must be conducted by April 1 at the Basis office at Karwan Bazar, Dhaka.
A Basis official said anyone can participate in the competition and it is also possible to participate online.
