Nasimon driver killed, 8 hurt in road accidents

BENAPOLE, Dec 12 (UNB): A human hauler 'Nasimon' driver was killed in a road accident at Basuari village in Abhoynagar upazila Monday morning. Police said Naim Sheikh, 15, son of Mizanur Rahman of the village died on the spot when his human hauler fell into a roadside ditch near Basuari bazaar as he lost control over the steering at around 8am. A UD case was filed in this connection. BSS reports: Eight members of a picnic group were injured in a road accident on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazaar highway in Goialmara area under Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazaar early Monday. Police said the accident took place when a microbus carrying the picnic group from Sylhet to Cox's Bazaar collided head-on with a passenger bus at around 7am in the morning. The injured persons are Sabbir, 17, Tipu, 19, Shahid, 25, Shiplu, 18, Pappu, 19, Amin, 18 and Himel, 18 and the microbus driver whose identity could not be confirmed immediately.
