Nasir, 12 others cleared of murder charge

CHITTAGONG, Mar 25: Islami Chhatra Shibir's Nasir Uddin and 12 others were acquitted of charges on Wednesday in a murder case filed 21 years ago.
Speedy Trial Tribunal judge Reza Tariq acquitted Shibir Nasir and his 12 associates of all charges in the killing of a Chhatra Dal leader in 1994.
 Advocate Ayub Khan, who stood for the state in the court, said Nasir and others had been acquitted of all charges. As many as nine accused including Nasir out of 13 were present in the court.
Md Jamir Uddin, general secretary of Chittagong Polytechnic Institute Chhatra Sangsad and leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, was killed in the city over establishing supremacy at the college in 1994 during the rule of BNP and its alliance.
