Nasir elected ICAB president for 2009

Nasir Uddin Ahmed FCA was elected President of the Institute of Chartered Accou ntants of Bang ladesh (ICAB) for the year 2009 at a meeting of the Council held Saturday (December 27). Nasir was introduced in the 36th annual general meeting (AGM) of the institute held under the chairmanship of Md Humayun Kabir FCA, President-ICAB, said a press release.
Nasir Uddin Ahmed FCA was the vice president of ICAB for the year 2003 and 2004. Nasir is the Finance Director of Coats Bangladesh Ltd., a British multinational company in Bangladesh.
Nasir has a brilliant academic and professional career. He obtained first class in BCom (Hons) in Accounting from Dhaka University in 1981 and passed MCom in Accounting from the same university.
Nasir qualified as chartered accountant from ICAB in November 1986. He was awarded ICAB Medal (Silver) in CA intermediate examination in May 1985. He has closely been associated with various academic activities of ICAB since long. He has been a lecturer of Auditing and Business Law at ICAB since 1991. An active member of ICAB, Nasir is also associated with various social and professional bodies in and outside the country.
ICAB also elected two vice-presidents: Showkat Hossain FCA and M Syful Islam FCA, and Shahadat Hossain FCA as member.
