State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid has directed the officials of Dhaka Power Distribution Company (Desco) to sincerely serve the consumers, reports UNB.
"You have to work with innovative ideas to provide prompt and best services to the consumers," he told officials while addressing a biannual conference of diploma engineers working at the Desco.
Desco Diploma Engineers Association organised the conference titled "Improved Service for Uninterrupted Power Supply".
The state minister advised the officials to have modern outlook to provide the services to the clients.
He said the consumers of electricity are increasing in Dhaka city with the rise in the distribution area of Desco.
Nasrul Hamid asked them to design their services in a manner so that consumers need not come to their offices to receive any service.
"Modern systems like prepaid metre, underground cable and smart grid are being used by the developed countries to provide the best services to the consumers. Desco has to utilise the services," he said.
The function, with Desco Diploma Engineers Association president MM Saiful Bari in the chair, was also addressed by Desco Managing Director Shahid Sarwar and other top officials.
