Nasrul to end corruption in power sector

Saturday, 21 June 2014

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid urged the officials of the Rural Electrification Board (REB) to check corruption in power sector.
“If we fail to check corruption and irregularities, all the achievements in power sector will be jeopardised,” he told a meeting with the REB officials at the organisation’s headquarter at Nikunja of Khilkhet in the city Saturday. He said allegations of irregularities and corruption are tarnishing the image of the REB, according to a news agency.
The corruption might not come at the zero level, but it must be ensured it is coming down to a tolerable level. “The success of a political government depends on performance of the field level officials,” he told the meeting.
REB Chairman Brigadier General Moin Uddin and other officials of the organization were also present at the meeting.
