Nasum scripts Sylhet's six-wkt win over Rangpur in BPL

Spinners Nasum Ahmed scripted Sylhet Titans' comprehensive six-wicket win over Rangpur Riders in the crucial game in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) by spinning the ball viciously at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in the city on Monday, reports BSS.
Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed returned figures of 3-19 and Moeen Ali recorded an envious bowling figure of 4-1-8-2 as they dismantled Rangpur's vaunted batting line up and wrapped them up for just for just 114 in 19.2 overs.
Pacer Shohidul Islam played a perfect foil to them with 3-36.
Sylhet then raced to the victory in 17.3 overs, reaching 119-4. The victory propelled them to the second spot in the point table, behind Chattogram Royals.
Parvez Hossain Emon, who opened the innings, led Sylhet's charge in batting with 41 ball-52 not out, an innings laced with three fours and as many sixes.
Emon and his opening partner Tawfique Khan made the chase a cake-walk by adding 54 runs for the opening stand.
After the departure of Tawfique for 33, Sylhet lost three more wickets in quick succession but Emon's resilience proved to be decisive in winning the game with ease.
Put into bat first, Rangpur's batting line could never recover the collapse once their openers Towhid Hridoy and Kyle Mayers were dismissed in sing digit figure.
Khushdil Shah made 30 while veteran Mahmudullah Riyad scored 29 to help them go past 100 runs.
The win was Sylhet's fifth in nine matches, with three victories coming from their last four games, keeping them well in the race for a playoff spot.
Rangpur, on the other hand, continued their slide with a third straight loss and now occupy fourth place on the points table, having collected eight points from eight matches.
