Nation begins election journey, says Rashed Khan

JHENAIDAH, Nov 7 (BSS): Gono Odhikar Parishad (GOP) General Secretary Md Rashed Khan has said the nation has begun its journey on the 'election train' as preparations are underway for the upcoming national election, scheduled for February 2026.
Addressing an election rally in Sadar upazila in the district on Friday, Rashed saidactivists of anti-fascist political parties including BNP, Jamaat, Gono Odhikar Parishad and the Islamic Movement had long endured imprisonment and continued their movement to restore democracy.
"Regardless of which party wins the next election, we are working to form a national government," he said, adding that BNP's acting chairman Tarique Rahman has been in regular discussions with them about the formation of such a government.
Regarding the upcoming election in the Jhenaidah-2 constituency, he said, "I wish every candidate the best. Let each party conduct its political activities peacefully."
