Nation celebrates 44th Victory Day

The people across the country Tuesday celebrated the 44th Victory Day voicing a strong demand for expediting the war crimes trial and quick execution of verdict.
The nation with a deep sense of respect remembered the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country's independence.
In Chittagong, the 44th Victory Day was celebrated in the city as elsewhere in the district pledging to establish a non-communal, prosperous and democratic Bangladesh and complete the trial of the rest war criminals in line with the spirit of liberation war.
In Rajshahi, the Victory Day-2014 was celebrated in the divisional city as well as different parts of the district with the call for completing the trial of the rest war criminals in line with the spirit of victory day.
In Rangpur, the 44th Victory Day was observed in the district through elaborate programmes amid unprecedented enthusiasm and festivity with participation of thousands people.
In Khulna, District administration, educational institutions and different socio-cultural and political organizations including Awami League observed the 44th Victory Day here in a befitting manner, according to a news agency.
In Barisal, the day was celebrated in the city with a fresh vow to protect the national independence and rights of all people, irrespective of their caste, creed and religions.
In Jamalpur, the great Victory Day-2014 was celebrated in the district today with a fresh call for completing trials of all war criminals to free the nation from stigma.
In Manikganj, the Victory Day was observed in Manikganj with great enthusiasm and befitting manner. On this occasion, the government, non-government, autonomous and various cultural organization took various programmes. Manikganj District Administration observed the day with various programmes.
Other districts, where the Victory Day was observed amid much enthusiasm, included Narail, Chuadanga, Kurigram, Khagrachari, Pabna, Munshiganj, Kushtia, Feni, Noakhali, Comilla, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Moulvibazar, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona, Kishoreganj, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Dinajpur, Bogra, Gaibandha, Sirajganj, Natore, Magura, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Satkhira, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Patuakhali, Bhola, Cox's Bazar and Chittagong Hill Tracts.
