National Bank awards meritorious children of employees

National Bank Limited organised a function to distribute scholarship, certificate of appreciation and crest among the meritorious wards of the employees of the bank at Bangladesh-China Friendship Center in the city recently.
Some 85 students who secured outstanding result in the SSC and HSC examinations held in 2008 were awarded with scholarship under NBL Employees' Welfare Scheme.
NBL Chairman Moazzam Hossain attended the function as chief guest while Managing Director Md Abdur Rahman Sarker presided over the meeting.
Senior Executive Vice President and Company Secretary AKM Shafiqur Rahman delivered address of welcome.
Deputy Managing Director Azizur Rahman delivered his vote of thanks on the occasion, says a press release.
Deputy Managing Director Masqur Ahmed, senior executives, officers and staff of the bank and parents of scholar students attended the function.
The welfare scheme was formed in 1997. Other than taking various initiatives for the welfare of the employees, it has introduced scholarship for the brilliant students of the employees with a view to inspire them to build up a career in future.
