National booters fly to Delhi for SAFF Championship today

A 31-member of Bangladesh national football team, led by Mohammad Sujan, will fly for India today (Tuesday) morning to take part in the 9th SAFF Championship scheduled to begin from December 2-11 at the Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, reports BSS. The 31-member Bangla-desh team comprised twenty players and eleven officials. Bangladesh will open their SAFF campaign taking on strong Pakistan in the tournament opening match on December 2. Nepal will be the second team whom Bangladesh face in their second fixture on December 4. Bangladesh will play their third match against Maldives on December 6. All the three matches will start at 18.00 pm (IST). The final of the championship is slated on December 11. Defending Champions India have been drawn in Group A along with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bhutan while strong contenders Bangladesh, Maldives and Nepal have been clubbed in Group B with Pakistan Bangladesh squad: Goalkeeper: Mamun Khan, Biplob Bhattyacharjee, Md. Shahidul Alam Sohel. Defence: Nasirul Islam Nasir, Md. Sujan, Mamun Mia, Ariful Islam Arif, Rezaul Karim Reza. Midfield: Pranotosh Kumar Das, Mezbabul Haque Manik, Emon Ahmed Babu, Shahedul Alam Shahed, Mamunul Islam Mamun, Abdul Baten Mazumdar Komol, Atiqur Rahman Meshu. Strikers: Towhidul Alam Towhid, Shah Alamgir Anik, Zahid Hasan Emily, M Abdul Malek and Mithun Chowdhury.
