National football team's return from Nepal uncertain amid violence

Wednesday, 10 September 2025

The Bangladesh national football team remained confined in a hotel on Tuesday afternoon in Kathmandu as escalated violence in Nepal compelled the airport authorities to cancel all flights from Tribhuvan International Airport, prompting Bangladesh to miss their scheduled flight at 3:00 PM, reports BSS.
Bangladesh Football Federation media department confirmed the latest development in the afternoon, reports BSS.
The statement reads that Bangladesh national football team was scheduled to
return home from Nepal on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG 0372 at 3 pm
today but considering the current situation in Nepal, the team's journey has
been cancelled. Further updates on the team's return will be announced soon.
Local authority All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Bangladesh

consulate to Kathmandu have ensured Bangladesh football team's safe and
secure stay in Kathmandu, the statement added.
The Bangladesh team was originally scheduled to return home on Wednesday
(Sept 10), but as the second and final FIFA friendly match against Nepal was
called off following Monday's protest, the Bangladesh Football federation brought the scheduled flight from Wednesday to today (Tuesday).
Bangladesh's first Friendly match against Nepal ended in a goalless draw held on September 6.
