National Insurance Day today

The nation will observe the 5th National Insurance Day across the country today (Friday) under the theme 'Korbo Bima Gorbo Desh, Smart Hobe Bangladesh'.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the day's programme at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in the city.
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali will preside over the event with officials from the Ministry of Finance, Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority, insurance companies and relevant departments in attendance.
National Insurance Day, celebrated on March 1 every year, commemorates the day when Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman joined Alpha Insurance Company on March 1, 1960, marking his entry into the insurance profession.
The main objective of observing the day is to make people aware about insurance.
