National moon sighting body meets today

A meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee will be held today in the Baitul Mokarram conference room of Islamic Foundation at 7 pm to review reports on moon sighting for the holy month of Jilhaj, 1436 Hijri to fix the date of holy Eid-ul-Azha, reports BSS.
Religious Affairs Minister and chairmen of the committee Professor Motiur Rahman will preside over the meeting, an Islamic Foundation press release said in the city Sunday.
The committee has requested all to inform it if the moon of Jilhaj is sighted in any part of the country by the following telephone and fax numbers or by any other means.
The numbers are: 9559493, 9559643, 9555947, 9556407 and 9558337; fax no: 9563397 and 95559514, the release added.
