National Tubes generates highest turnover

Ten most traded companies accounted for more than 26 per cent of transactions on the prime bourse on Sunday, with the National Tubes generating the highest turnover.
Market analysts said a section of investors continued to show their appetite on National Tubes shares amid dividend expectation as its share price soared 19 per cent within a month without having any undisclosed price sensitive information.
According to the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) data, some 751,895 shares of National Tubes were traded, generating a turnover of nearly 144 million, which was 4.61 per cent of the day's total turnover of Tk 3.12 million.
The company's share closed at Tk 189.80 each on Sunday, advancing 1.44 per cent over the previous day.
Its share price surged 19 per cent within a month on the Dhaka bourse. Its share price was Tk 160.10 on September 22.
Its share traded between Tk 98.30 and Tk 205.90 in the last one year.
The company's earnings per share (EPS) stood at negative Tk 0.96 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 2.24 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net operating cash flow per share (NOCFPS) was Tk 0.03 for July 2018-March 2019 as against negative Tk 1.26 for July 2017-March 2018.
The net asset value (NAV) per share was Tk 175.07 as on March 31, 2019 and Tk 193.62 as on June 30, 2018.
The National Tubes, listed on the DSE in 1989, disbursed 10 per cent stock dividend in 2018.
The company's paid-up capital is Tk 316.56 million and authorised capital is Tk 1.0 billion while total number of securities is 31.65 million.
The sponsor-directors own 0.05 per cent stake in the company, while the government owns 51 per cent, institutional investors own 20.14 per cent and the general public 28.81 per cent as of August 31, 2019, the DSE data showed.
Standard Ceramic came second on the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk 111 million changing hands. The company's share price fell 2.89 per cent to close at Tk 510.30 each.
Monno Jute Stafflers clinched the third spot, with shares worth Tk 87 million changing hands. Its share closed at Tk 1,307.50 each, losing 6.25 per cent over the previous day.
Paramount Insurance emerged as the fourth, with shares worth Tk 84 million changing hands. The company's share price advanced 2.33 per cent to close at Tk 26.40 each.
Summit Power notched the fifth spot, with shares worth Tk 79 million changing hands. The power generation company's share closed at Tk 38 each, losing 7.99 per cent.
The turnover of Sonar Bangla Insurance was Tk 73 million. The company's share closed at Tk 36.60, gaining 1.67 per cent.
