Nat\\\'l Eidgah readies to host main Eid Jamaat

The National Eidgah (prayer ground) is readying to host the main Jamaat (congregation) of Holy Eid-ul-Azha which will be observed in the country on Monday. Final preparations are going on in full swing to make the National Eidgah near the High Court in the city ready for the Eid Jamaat on Monday morning. Water-proof shed has been built over 280,000 square feet area using bamboos to prevent the rain-related hassle. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is taking foolproof security measures to ensure protection to the hundreds of devotees, including dozens of VIPs and foreign diplomats, who will offer prayers there. A police camp has been set up on the north side of the main entrance and the camp of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on the south. Along with the each entrance, a total of 64 CC cameras are being set up. Bangladesh Telecommunication Company Limited (BTCL) installed a temporary telephone set beside the mehrab. More than 95 per cent of total preparation works has already been completed, said the officials of Dhaka South City Corporation today. Supervision of the ground will be handed over to the security forces after completing all preparatory works within Sunday afternoon, they added, according to a news agency.
